How many likes, how many followers, how many reactions does it take to have (social media power)? Yahweh’s idea of being a voice of significance is way different from our understanding. A popular social presence is just that… relevant today, a moment of fame and then, it’s gone like the wind. In building kingdom culture we are establishing forever (heaven on earth) and we do not do these things through mans logic. Let me show you, let’s look at how Yahweh raised Daniel to a place of prominence and influence.
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs. And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking worse than the young men who are your age? Then you would endanger my head before the king.” So Daniel said to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, “Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then let our appearance be examined before you, and the appearance of the young men who eat the portion of the king’s delicacies; and as you see fit, so deal with your servants.” So he consented with them in this matter, and tested them ten days. And at the end of ten days their features appeared better and fatter in flesh than all the young men who ate the portion of the king’s delicacies. Thus the steward took away their portion of delicacies and the wine that they were to drink, and gave them vegetables. As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.”
Daniel 1:8-17 NKJV
In times past I’ve heard a lot of people place a lot of relevance in the fact that Daniel rejected the kings food, but more over Yahweh had spoke into his heart that if he would say yes to Yahweh and no to the way that (seemed) to always be successful in the logic of men… Yahweh would take something (Daniel) that would never be considered relevant by the ways of this word and raise him into a person of power and influence. And that power knowledge and influence would be solely expressed from intimacy with God.
“For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.””
I Corinthians 1:26-31 NKJV
